Seaxe arrives – Newhaven Port’s new pilot vessel

Delivered to the Port in April 2025, our pilot vessel “Seaxe” is a modern ORC 121 built by Goodchild Marine Services Limited, one of the country’s leading boat builders based in Great Yarmouth. This state-of-the-art vessel delivers significant advantages in efficiency, safety, and environmental impact.

Seaxe features an innovative beak bow hull design that minimises drag, enabling speeds of up to 26 knots and ensuring efficient operation even in rough sea conditions. Safety is enhanced by the internationally renowned Man Overboard Platform installed as standard equipment. Additionally, its latest-generation engines provide substantial fuel savings, helping us reduce our carbon footprint.
